~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The believers in Corinth were impressed by certain types of people – wise, mighty and noble. But God had chosen the foolish, weak and base to confound the world (v. 26-28). There is no room for personal boasting because we are who we are because of our Lord Jesus.
In Christ (1:30a)
How does one get to be in Christ? Answer: It is of God, meaning to say that God is the source of saving grace (Eph. 2:8).
            What does it mean to be in Christ Jesus? To be in Christ is not external conformity; it is internal transformation. A person who is in Christ is a new creature (2 Cor. 5:17).
            “Of God are ye in Christ Jesus” means that your life is from God, and that life is in Christ Jesus. We are what we are because Christ is who He says He is in God the Father. To be in Christ is to become the sons of God (Rom. 8:14-17).
God in Christ (2 Cor. 5:19; John 14:10)
Christ in Us (Col 3:3; Rom. 8:1; 1 Cor. 1:2)
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
+    Lesson: Are you in Christ Jesus? (John 3:36)
Become like Christ (1:30b)
If we are heirs of God, it means that we have abundance of spiritual wealth. God created man in His own image (Gen. 1:27) means that man was endowed with certain of God’s attributes. Adam was created wise, righteous and holy. But when he sinned against God, he lost that likeness. When a person is saved, he is being conformed to the image of our Lord Jesus. We “put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness” (Eph. 4:23-24).
A.      Wisdom
Biblical wisdom is a skill of living; it is right use of God’s knowledge. Biblical wisdom enables you to go to the Word of God and derive biblical principles to deal with the situations of life.
+    Lesson :  Do you lack God's wisdom? Pray to God
(James 1:5)
B.      Righteousness
Righteousness refers to one’s standing before God, whose judgment is absolute. The righteousness that we need to stand before God is the righteousness of His Son.
 Lesson: Are you righteous before God? Trust in Jesus
(2 Cor. 5:21)
C.      Sanctification
Sanctification means to be made holy. Every Christian is made holy and set apart for God’s use and for His glory.
+    Lesson: Are you sanctified? Trust in Christ (1 Cor. 1:2).
D.      Redemption
To redeem is to buy back. The price of redemption is the blood of Jesus (1 Pet. 1:18-19).
+    Lesson: Does God have a claim on you? (1 Cor. 3:23; 6:20).
Conclusion: Glory in Christ
The Christian contributes nothing to attain these four qualities. They are made unto us through our Lord Jesus. The only appropriate response is that for the Christian to glory in God.
Unbeliever : Are you Christ? Are you God’s?
Believer : Are you living for Christ? Do you glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s?
